We are sorry to have to report the news that Alan Robson has died. Alan was father to Andrew and Jeremy, both Old Boys of SMC, to whom we send our sincerest condolences.
Andrew has written to the Society to let us know the sad news:
It is with great sadness and regret I have to inform you that Alan passed away on Tuesday 16th June 2026.
You may be aware he had been suffering from Parkinson’s for some years, and his health had slowly deteriorated further over the last couple of years.
He had been very well and expertly cared for during this period by a dedicated care home team.
Both our parents had very fond memories and great admiration and dedication during our time at St. Michael’s and indeed beyond, when all possible avenues were explored to continue SMC as a Choral entity, which as we know, was ultimately not successful.
Alan’s funeral will be held on Thursday 2nd July at 1530 at the Chiltern Crematorium.
I would be most grateful if you could communicate these details to our wider SMC Society network, and if friends and members would like to attend, they will be most welcome.
There will be a small ‘wake’ following the service locally to the Crematorium.
